What is a French drain?
A French drain is a drainage system made up of pipes that collects water accumulating near houses and buildings and directs it away from the foundation walls. The drains are installed underground, near the foundation footing, around the perimeter of the property. French drain installation is mandatory for new construction.
This system drains rainwater, snowmelt and groundwater to help prevent cracks from forming in the concrete when water puts pressure on the foundation walls. After installing the French drain, we cover it with 12 inches of crushed stone and a geotextile membrane that keeps debris away from the pipes.

This strong, waterproof membrane will protect the concrete from deterioration and keep your foundation dry. In addition, this membrane will help keep your basement cool in the summer.
