Steps of a drain camera inspection
A drain camera inspection is performed using our camera system specifically designed for underground pipes. Here are the steps we follow:
- Locating a drain access point: our technician locates the access point to the French drain (a cleanout). The access point may also be located outside, near the foundation. If there is no existing access point, a temporary opening can be created by exposing a small section of pipe.
- Inserting the camera into the pipe: our technician inserts the waterproof camera (attached to a flexible cable) into the French drain pipe. The cable is several metres long.
- Real-time video footage: as the camera moves through the pipe, our technician views the footage in real time on a screen. The camera is equipped with LED lights to clearly illuminate the inside of the pipe.
- Camera removal and report: once the inspection is complete, the camera is removed and the technician provides a detailed report, along with video footage or photos to support the diagnosis.
